The Web Site requires basic information about all Registered Users, Buyers, and Sellers (hereinafter “you”), such as name, userID, company name, contact information, address, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, and specialty interests. This identifiable information is used to create a personal business profile for you. That profile is stored securely on our servers - sensitive information is encrypted for your protection. Your profile means that we can deliver information and services to you that are customized to your interests and business needs. Some of the services on the Web Site may be offered in conjunction with a partner company. Currently, these services do not require sharing information with partner companies. If future services require information sharing, you will be alerted in this section of this page.
In addition to helping the Web Site serve your interests and business needs , your profile is used to help us understand usage and commerce trends on the Web Site. Our analysis of usage and commerce trends takes the form of aggregated statistics and is anonymous - your name and contact information are never associated with usage and commerce patterns. The Web Site may distribute trend information to you or third parties (although it does not do so currently). Again, that information would only contain statistics about usage and commerce; no personal information would be included to third parties. If you prefer not to be part of this trend analysis, even anonymously, please see our description of opting out of service.
Personal information collected during registration is published in our Who’s Who directory, available to all members of the SportsOneSource.com community. The information published is limited to your name, company name, position, and contact information such as e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers. You have the option to opt out of inclusion in the directory during the registration process by unchecking the box associated with the phrase “Add me to the Who’s Who directory”. If you wish to edit rather than remove your directory listing you may do so at anytime after completing the registration process. To do so, visit your Personal Profile, where you may edit or remove information about yourself from the Web Site.
You must list your e-mail address when you register on the Web Site. The Web Site does not control any e-mail exchange that takes place as a result of one or more parties listing their e-mail addresses and using them to correspond outside of the Web Site.
The Web Site may use your e-mail address to send you headline news or news about updated features or services offered by the Web Site its affilaite aprtners. If you do not want to receive these messages, please e-mail admin@SportsOneSource.com and write: “unsubscribe to headline news” in the subject line.
The Web Site also uses your e-mail address to contact you and to facilitate contact between Buyers and Sellers. The specific instances when we use your e-mail address to contact you or facilitate contact between Buyers and Sellers are:
· to send you a confirmation note after you first register;
· to alert Sellers when items listed for sale have been ordered, when a Buyer has modified an order, communicate product availability, review credit checks, and post special shipping instructions;
· to alert Buyers when their order has been accepted or modified by a Seller, communicate credit issues, confirm order status and delivery, check product availability and to enable online message boards and chat forums.
A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. Usage of cookies is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the Web Site. You have choices with respect to cookies: by modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies you will be unable to use those services on the Web Site that require registration in order to participate. These services include (but are not limited to): membership registration; buyer entitlement to visit virtual trade show and purchase goods; and for other products, programs and services.
You can still browse the Web Site even if you do not accept cookies.
The Web Site's cookie contains only your userID, a randomly generated unique number. That number is part of your profile and allows the Web Site to identify you when you visit, so you:
· Do not have to remember your userID and password each time. You may of course log in and log out each time you visit
· Do not have to repeatedly re-type contact and shipping information to communicate with other Registered Users and to buy or sell products or services through The Web Site.
· Receive the personalized services you requested when you registered.
All users of the Web Site are given the opportunity to “opt-out” of having their personal information used for purposes not directly related to the Web Site at the point where such information is requested. For example, an opt-out mechanism to allow users who request information, or who buy or sell products or services, but do not want any marketing materials from us, to keep their e-mail address off of our marketing lists.
Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletters or promotional materials from our partners may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying e-mail with “unsubscribe” in the subject line.
In addition, users have the following options for removing their information from our database, so that you will not receive future communications or participate in our services:
We use your IP address to administer the Web Site, to monitor Web Site usage and to track user movement through the Web Site, to analyze trends, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Usage statistics obtained through IP address tracking are used only to help identify popular areas of the Web Site, traffic movement, and to improve content and offerings on our site.
The Web Site is a highly secure site, with extra security in place to protect personal and transaction information. All Web servers are behind a firewall and are monitored twenty-four hours a day, 7 days a week. All transactions, as well as financial and personal information, are encrypted.
This site contains links to other sites. The Web Site is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such linked sites.
As a value-added service, this site makes available the following to its users; chat rooms, forums and message boards. Any information disclosed in these areas becomes public information, therefore, you should exercise caution if you decide to share your personal information.
